Managing Redundancy

We can provide you guidance and support on managing any redundancy, including process, selection and communication. The aim of the service is to ensure that your redundancies are conducted in a legally compliant way. We can either guide you through the redundancy process or you can hand the entire redundancy process over to us and we will manage it on your behalf.

Please know managing redundancy is very challenging both with us or another provider. We strongly recommend you use an experienced HR professional to guide you and make sure you do adhere to legal bindings.

It could be that your business has hit financial difficulties and needs to take action to reduce costs. It could also be that your business is changing direction and different skills will be needed as you move forward. In either situation, the outcome is the same – you need to tell some of your existing staff to go.

We can support you through the entire redundancy process.
At a basic level, we can provide you with a full written process, scripts, documentation and will be at the end of the phone to answer your queries. This could be one option for you if you are looking for peace of mind with minimum cost.

If you did need more support, we can be onsite with you whilst meetings are conducted, support you through selection criteria and produce all communication strategies and supporting documentation for you.

Or you can outsource the entire process to us. Clearly you will still be responsible for making the decision as to which staff member/s are made redundant but we will conduct all of the meetings for you, work with you on defining the selection criteria, create all of the documentation and letters and help you look to the future and manage the remaining staff so as to avoid any pitfalls.

This option works particularly well for businesses where the reason for redundancy is a business change. By handing the redundancy process over to us, your management team can focus on looking to the future.

As a first step, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire that gives us some basic information about the redundancies you are considering. We will then arrange an initial telephone consultation with you to discuss your situation in more detail and the level of support you require.

Our services are from:
  • 1. £55 per hour for offsite support (phone and emails).
  • 2. £95 per hour for onsite work depending on the work required.

We will speak with you to understand the situation you are looking to manage and the level of support you require. We will then give you an estimate of the number of hours we expect the matter to take.

We will agree any work before it is performed and keep you updated on the costs as they accrue.

Note: For new clients, we may request a 50% of the fees up front.
